RAC, supported by Ignia, wins 2018 Sitecore Experience Award in the Most Innovative User Experience Category

01/08/2018

Sydney, Australia, August 1, 2018 – Ignia, an Insight Company, announced today that its client solution for RAC in Western Australia has been chosen for the 2018 Sitecore Experience Awards as an Australia & New Zealand regional winner in the category for Most Innovative User Experience. The category recognises a compelling digital experience that incorporates beacons, headless implementation, AR/VR, mixed reality devices, progressive web apps, digital kiosks or displays, voice, IoT devices, etc. The result for customers is convenience, time savings, added value, speed, richness of experience, and all should roll up ultimately to increased business impact.

The Sitecore Experience Awards recognise brands that have built truly customer-centric digital experiences with Sitecore®, the global leader in digital experience management software. RAC and Ignia, the implementation partner, was awarded for the RAC Member Experience Platform project which uses Sitecore Experience Platform on Azure to enable RAC to provide an omnichannel experience that is seamless, personalised and member-centred. With the ability to obtain a more complete picture through their data to enhance user experiences, RAC has overcome silos and enabled a culture for workers, with the right tools, to provide exceptional, more tailored experiences. Where once it took years or months to stand up services, functions, and products, individual business units can now in an agile way stand these up in a matter of weeks; better informed by data-driven insights about interests of their more than 1 million members.

"By mapping out our full capabilities, our digital transformation will be connected across all channels and will help deliver on our goal to provide a seamless experience for our members,” said Rob Slocombe, RAC Chief Operating Officer. "We now have a well-established and agile capability that can distribute value to the business rapidly."

Through the plug-in of AI on the Sitecore platform, the AI experiment for predictive product recommendations for members has resulted in an increase on quotes by up to 80% and an increase in product sales by up to 44%.

"We align our solutions to the member need and the business priorities by always considering the bigger picture and future technology direction. This is evidenced by building an extensible architecture in the Cloud that has allowed RAC over the last 2 years to constantly iterate on the base Sitecore platform to plug in AI capabilities, chatbots, new CRM and Modern Data Platform,” says Veli-Matti Vanamo, Chief Technology Officer at Ignia.

The RAC Member Experience Platform ultimately offers a powerful omnichannel solution encompassing Web, Mobile, Chatbot, Call Centre and Member Experience Centre (physical shopfront).
